This Promotion commences at 10:00AM EST October 9, 2018 and closes at 11:59PM EST on November 30, 2018 ("Offer Period"). This promotion is valid for:

In order to qualify for the Promotion, Participants must:

 

Each Participant in this Promotion is only eligible to receive one (1) gift from RateSupermarket.ca per Issuer (e-Gift card OR Interac e-Transfer) for the duration of the Promotion and the Offer Period. Gift cards will only be fulfilled following confirmation of approval from the Issuer to RateSupermarket.ca. If such confirmation of credit card application approval from the Issuer is not received by RateSupermarket.ca, this Promotion is invalid.

 


Completed credit card application approvals can take up to sixty (60) business days to be processed by the Issuer. Approved credit card applicants will be notified by the Issuer. Notification that the Participant has successfully qualified for the Promotion will come from RateSupermarket.ca by email.

 

Eligible e-Gift cards OR Interac e-Transfer will only be sent to qualified Participants via email and all other delivery methods will not be offered by RateSupermarket.ca. E-Gift cards OR Interac e-Transfers will be emailed to qualified Participants to the email address the Participant provides. Neither RateSupermarket.ca nor the Issuer are responsible for email address inaccuracies provided by the Participant. RateSupermarket.ca will distribute the Promotion to Participants who have successfully qualified following confirmation from the Issuer that the credit card application has been approved. Please allow up to eight (8) weeks for e-Gift card OR Interac e-Transfer fulfillment processing after credit card approval confirmation from the Issuer to RateSupermarket.ca.

 

The Promotion will still be distributed to Participants who have successfully qualified up to sixty (60) days after the end of the Offer Period.

 

RateSupermarket.ca reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual or Participant who tampers, or attempts to tamper, with the operation of the Promotion, or violates the Promotion Terms, or for any other reason deemed suspicious by RateSupermarket.ca. RateSupermarket.ca' s decision is final and no correspondence with the Participant will be entered into.

 

Participants consent to RateSupermarket.ca using the Participant's name, email address, phone number and mailing address to verify approved credit card applications. RateSupermarket.ca will not have access to any personal details, beyond those details required to fulfill the Promotion, provided for in the credit card application. RateSupermarket.ca is not responsible in any way for the approval of credit card applications. Please review RateSupermarket.ca's Privacy Policy, which also governs this Promotion.

 

Neither RateSupermarket.ca nor the Issuer are responsible for lost, late, misdirected or otherwise undeliverable mail or applications that cannot be processed due to phone, network, electronic or computer hardware or software failure, or technical failures of any kind, whether caused by RateSupermarket.ca, Participants, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the promotion or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions which may limit a Participant's ability to participate in the Promotion.

 

Any issues with e-Gift card OR Interac e-Transfer fulfillment must be brought to the attention of RateSupermarket.ca within three (3) months of the application date.

 

All content included within the Promotion, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is the property of RateSupermarket.ca or its content suppliers and protected by Canadian copyright laws.

 

The Promotion is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. The Promotion is only open to Canadian residents who are age of majority in their province/territory of residence.

How do I apply for this promotion and receive my Interac e-Transfer or gift card?

 

Step 1: Fill out your details on the RateSupermarket.ca promo page!

 

Once you're done, hit the Apply Online button to be transferred to the secure online Scotiabank credit card application form. Complete the credit card application form and submit it to Scotiabank - your application is finished.

 

Step 2: Receive your account activation details from RateSupermarket.ca.

 

You will receive a RateSupermarket.ca email with a link to activate your user account and set up a password. Keep this info - you'll need it later to check the status your Interac e-Transfer or e-Gift card.

 

Step 3: Confirm your qualification.

 

Please note it can take up to 60 days for Scotiabank to process and confirm the status of your credit card application. Following this, it can take up to 4 weeks for RateSupermarket.ca to receive confirmation of your account approval from Scotiabank, at which time your Interac e-Transfer or e-Gift card will be ready to be sent. Log in to your profile at any time to see your status.

 

Step 4: Get your gift!

 

Once RateSupermarket.ca receives confirmation of your approval from Scotiabank, your Interac e-Transfer or e-Gift card will be emailed to the email address provided. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing.

I already have my new credit card, but have not yet received my gift from RateSupermarket.ca. Why?

RateSupermarket.ca must receive confirmation of your credit card approval from Scotiabank first before sending out your gift card, even if you have already received your new credit card.

It can take up to 4 weeks for Scotiabank to confirm this information with RateSupermarket.ca. Unfortunately, RateSupermarket.ca cannot contact Scotiabank directly for information about your application status as your personal information is kept confidential. Once RateSupermarket.ca receives confirmation of your qualification, your Interac e-Transfer or e-Gift card will be emailed to the email address you have provided. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing.

 

How can I check on the status of my application?

Log in to your RateSupermarket.ca user profile to see the status of your qualification. You will receive login details for your profile from RateSupermarket.ca when you apply for this promotion. What personal information will be collected from me by RateSupermarket.ca?

To sign up for this promotion, you must provide your first and last name, email address, province and mailing address. You will also be required to enter the last 4 numbers of your new credit card once you receive it into your RateSupermarket.ca User Profile.

Please note that any information you provide in your credit card application is confidential and not accessible to RateSupermarket.ca. Information submitted regarding your secret question and answer for Interac e-Transfer are not stored by RateSupermarket.ca.

 

Why was my credit card application declined?

Unfortunately, we can't help you with that. But that's a good thing! The credit card issuer will not provide us with any details about declined cards, so that type of information will stay private. If you want to know why your application has been declined please contact the credit card issuer directly.

 

I haven't received my approval yet and the promotion is ending! Will I still qualify for my gift from RateSupermarket.ca?

Don't worry - as long as you applied for the credit card, using the link on the offer page, during the offer period (October 9 – November 30, 2018) you can still qualify for the offer.

 

What is an Interac e-Transfer?

An Interac e-Transfer is a fast, secure and convenient way to send money to anyone in Canada from within the security of your online banking service. It uses email or text messaging for fast notification to the recipient that a transfer has been sent, while the participating financial institutions transfer the funds using established and secure banking procedures.

 

Will other financial institutions offer Interac e-Transfers in the future?

Yes. Canadian financial institutions know that people want to send money quickly and easily. Watch for upcoming announcements or contact your financial institution to find out when they will be offering Interac e-Transfers.

 

How do I deposit an Interac e-Transfer?

When someone sends you an Interac e-Transfer, you will receive a notification via email indicating a transfer has been sent to you. The notification includes information about the transfer including:

• Sender's name (RateSupermarket.ca)
• Transfer amount
• The notification also includes a link to deposit your transfer to your bank account.

The fastest way to get your funds is through your financial institution's online or mobile banking service. Simply click the link in the notification, select your financial institution, login to online or mobile banking and deposit the money into the account of your choice. If you cannot click on the link, either cut and paste or type the link into your browser.

If you don't have access to online or mobile banking, contact your financial institution or visit their online banking website to sign up.

If your financial institution does not yet offer the Interac e-Transfer service, or if you don't bank online, you can still deposit transfers to any Canadian bank account. You will be required to register with Interac and provide your banking information in order for the money to be deposited into your bank account. The deposit usually takes 4 - 6 business days to process and a $4.00 fee will be deducted from the deposit amount.

 

Can I switch from an e-Gift card to Interac e-Transfer if I change my mind?

Unfortunately, no, you are unable to switch your selection from an e-Gift card to receive an Interac e-Transfer due to security concerns. You may however change from one e-Gift card option to another e-Gift card option while your application status is still 'Pending'.
