Your Loonie Resolutions for 2012

Loonie Resolutions

The holidays are over and 2011 is already history.

Our news reporter extraordinaire, Rubina, catches up with holiday shoppers to find out how Canadian consumers plan to save money in the new year.

If you’re looking for a few quick ways to cut your expenses so you can grow your savings, try out some of these ideas:

  • Brown-bag-it!  That’s right, say good bye to expensive lunches and hello to leftovers.  You can save up to $25 a week or $1300 a year.
  • If your furry best friend gets sick, don’t buy the meds through your vet.  Get the prescription and buy it online or even try to get it fulfilled through your local pharmacy.  You can save up to 80% this way!
  • Just because you’re hard of sight that doesn’t mean your wallet should suffer. Order your contacts online instead of through the pharmacy or optometrist.  Some sites can save you up to 70% per year.
  • Unsubscribe to those mailing lists that tempt you to spend money.  So what if miss out on saving 40% on Ugg boots!

Tell us about your loonie resolutions for the 2012.
