In Canada, eligible residents in every province and territory may obtain Blue Cross® coverage through one of the independent Blue Cross Member Plans. All Member Plans operate on a not-for-profit basis and are independent Members of the Canadian Association of Blue Cross Plans (CABCP). The Association maintains and monitors standards of performance ensuring the highest quality of service by its Members which benefit all clients across the country. The Member Plans are also linked with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in the United States and worldwide through the International Federation of Health Funds.

Across Canada, the independent Member Plans are organized on a regional basis, with a commitment to effectively manage a complete line of supplementary health, dental, life insurance and disability income products across Canada on an individual and group basis.

Collectively, the Blue Cross Member Plans cover approximately 7 million Canadians representing 30% of the supplementary health and dental market generating in excess of $2 billion in annual revenue.
