About George

During my 26 years working as an advisor within the estates, trusts, and investment industries, I have had an opportunity to work for all types of people, from all walks of life and all levels of wealth. I have enjoyed some really great investment markets and managed my way through some absolutely horrible markets. My area of interest and focus was the design, monitoring and management of stock and bond investment portfolios for taxable individuals. This became an area of interest to me because basically I’m a thrifty guy and I like to understand what it is I’m buying and why. Because so much of investing is uncontrollable, it makes good sense to me to become very interested in those aspects of investing that can be controlled. In January of 2011, I finally made the decision to transition into the Internet world by creating a resource for Canadian investors -- InvestingForMe.com. The site is a culmination of my decades of investment experience and learning. On the personal side, I make my home on Vancouver Island with my wife of 25 years and our three sons. I am a passionate skier and I enjoy spending time in my shop making furniture out of interesting pieces of old-growth cedar, maple and fir.
